Dentures
Full dentures are used to replace all missing teeth and are made of acrylic.
Partial dentures are used to replace a few missing teeth, where the remaining teeth will provide support to the denture with the help of clasps [metal wires] that go around the remaining natural teeth. Partial dentures can be made of acrylic or a combination of acrylic and metal.
Immediate dentures are the dentures fabricated before the teeth are extracted. Immediate dentures are placed in the mouth right after tooth/teeth extraction so that there is no time period of being without teeth. With immediate dentures, we have less control over how they look and they need to be relined as the gums heal.
